League leaders Bordeaux lead Ligue 1 on goal difference and have 2 games in hand over second placed Montpellier.
France Ligue 1 2009/10
Bordeaux vs Montpellier

Stade Jacques Chaban-Delmas (Bordeaux), 8 March 2010, Kick-off, 04:00 (GMT +8:00)

Bordeaux
League leaders Bordeaux lead Ligue 1 on goal difference and have 2 games in hand over second placed Montpellier. They have a fully fit squad to choose from going into this top-of-the-table encounter.

Laurent Blanc's side have only lost once at home all season and only two draws have blemished their last 5 home matches. In their 3 wins, they have scored 8 and have only conceded twice. Earlier this season they beat Montpellier 0-1 which kept them on top of the league.

Bordeaux's league at the top have been trimmed down by rivals Montpellier & Lyon in recent games and they cannot afford to drop points anymore at this stage of the season.

Montpellier
Montpellier exceeded everyone's expectations this season and pushing Bordeaux to the league title as far as they have now would be an achievement regardless of how the season ends.

If they are hoping to come away with a draw tonight, they may have to work extra hard given Bordeaux strong home form and their own wobbly away record. They succumbed to a 1-0 loss to Saint-Etienne in their last away match and were thrashed 4-0 by Monaco in mid-January.

Fortunately for them, they are practically injury-free except for long term absentee Nenad Dzodic. But the young Montpellier team may be overawed facing an experienced Bordeaux side.

Match Prediction
Hard to see Montpellier coming away with a point let alone a win tonight and Bordeaux should comfortably overcome the handicap.

Bordeaux have scored 4 goals in a match they have won 3 times this season at home while Montpellier have conceded 4 goals twice in 2 away loses. So, would not be a surprise if we see 4 goals scored by the home team tonight and Montpellier may be able to score a consolation. They were kept out in the last away match but given that they have not gone on a scoreless run on the road so far this season, they should be able to score one tonight. A 4-1 looks a likely scoreline.
